#Overview.

Liquidity on a decentralized exchange (DEX) refers to the availability of assets for trading. It is a critical factor that determines how easily users can buy and sell cryptocurrencies on the platform. High liquidity ensures that trades can be executed quickly and at stable prices, while low liquidity can lead to delays and significant price fluctuations.

Liquidity on a DEX is typically provided by liquidity pools. A liquidity pool is a smart contract that holds pairs of tokens. Users, known as liquidity providers (LPs), contribute their assets to these pools. In return, they receive liquidity provider tokens (LP tokens), which represent their share of the pool and entitle them to a portion of the trading fees generated by the pool.
